A 1976 "transplant" from California, Cheryl has lived on Oahu since 1981, working primarily in the legal field, specializing in data management and computer technology.

The end of 2001, after five years as a full-time legal secretary, Cheryl left that position and began Signing Hawaii, Inc. ("SHI").  First commissioned as a Hawaii Notary Public in 1997, in late 2001 Cheryl successfully completed the National Notary Association ("NNA") Home Study Course.  Additional training through the National Association of Signing Agents qualified her as a Certified Notary Signing Agent.  The primary business of SHI at its inception was to provide Notary Signing Agent Services.

July of 2004 saw the beginning of a gradually increasing Mobile Notary Service, while June of 2005 will see the kick off of SHI's Legal Document Assistant/Typing and Fingerprinting Services.

Cheryl is passionate about the need to raise public awareness of the role and responsibilities of Notaries Public and advocating for the requirement for minimum  and continuing education for Hawaii's Notaries.

Cheryl
Michael
A more recent (1995) "transplant" from Des Moines, Iowa, Michael retired in June of 2005 after 40+ years in the printing industry.

While always a willing helper and supportive of Cheryl's various "projects" and business "ad"-ventures prior to his retirement, Michael's role was pretty much in the "background."  as of January 1, 2005, Michael's role expanded to that of 50% shareholder, director, Vice-President and Treasurer of SHI.

In addition, following his retirement, Michael has assumed an increasingly active role in the SHI office, freeing Cheryl of vital, though time-consuming administratve tasks.  His attention to detail makes him a "natural" to fill this position.
